My disillusionment with Don Quijote.
This character has always been regarded as a hero,
an example of man fighting for lofty ideals, as a noble and exalted
person in general. Just the example to follow!
But after making a closer look without paying
attention to many of his noble-sounded colourful speeches one can notice
that Don Quijote can be regarded as somehow cruel person as well.
One that is no able to comprehend the effect of his
own actions.
Then his famous asocial behaviour makes him even a
crueller thing. By breaking some society patterns he lacks it’s
analysing, hence his efforts make the situation worse. Never one
should trust him!
My only arguments to the defence of Don Quijote are
that this character had inspired Picasso to draw his perfect graphics.
Apart from this it is just his unselfishness that could be regarded as
his asset.
For sure he hardly can be regarded as an example to
follow.
